Taupō's Restaurant and Garden Bar

Ploughmans’ food style is classic with a contemporary feel, and mixes traditional English dishes with pacific flavoured cuisine.

There’s a large cosy open fireplace for the cooler nights within the bar area, where you can chat to the locals, watch tv & enjoy the wide selection of NZ & Imported beers.

A new addition to the Taupo dining scene, The Bistro has gained a strong local following by offering a high quality dining experience with affordable prices.

Try the crackled pork belly, confit of Cambridge duck or braised Rangitikei lamb shank.

This is a family business, owned by local chef Jude Messenger who was the winner of the 2011 Monteiths Wild Food Challenge. This is definitely worth a visit.

If you are looking for a family restaurant, The Mole and Chicken could be the perfect solution.  This popular neighbourhood restaurant has a simple but tasty menu, and with half-size portions available there is something for the entire family.

A large, separate bar area allows you to catch all the live sports action, and a large deck area means you can relax with a drink in the afternoon sun.

Situated on the lakefront, Dixie Brown's is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Enjoy your food outside under a snuggly blanket or on the comfy bench seating inside. Boasting probably the largest menu in town, there is definitely something for everyone.

Choose from a wide range of salads, pizzas, burgers, pasta, seafood, lamb, pork and a variety of steaks.

The restaurant is spacious and includes a kids' menu that will keep the children happy. With different price points, Dixie Brown's is an appealing choice for any budget.
